We love when it is time for our Vendor Spotlight Series because we enjoy sharing with you some inside information and interesting facts about the companies we do business with...
Our next Vendor Spotlight is...Carla Corporation! This amazing company has a rich history and makes all their beautiful jewelry in the United States.
The Carla Corporation is truly all about family. They have been a family owned and operated company for over 50 years.
In 1965 Nicholas DeCristofaro Sr. founded the Carla Corporation with the intention of leaving a legacy to the following generations. His son-in-law Ralph Fleming Jr. and son Nicholas DeCristofaro Jr. joined the company and help continue to grow it throughout the 70’s and 80’s.
This legacy continued when Nicholas’ grandsons, Brian Fleming and Ralph Fleming III, joined the company in the late 80’s and now are the President and Vice President of the company. As you can see, family matters to this company, but so do their principles...
At Carla, they live by four core principles: Quality, Service, Trust, and Dependability. All of their manufacturing is done in the United State and some of their jewelry making processes are unique to Carla. This is part of what makes their jewelry so remarkable.
One of these unique processes is electroform. This is a process where precious metal is deposited over wax patterns. This is a proprietary process similar to plating. (Plating is when the jewelry is "plated' off with a Rhodium or Hamilton which gives the consistent Carla Corp. color.) Why is this a big deal? Electroform gives Carla Corp. the ability to produce large styles that are hollow, lightweight, and durable, which makes the jewelry much more comfortable to wear! Carla Corp. is the only manufacturer in the US to use this process!
Let's take a look at some of their gorgeous jewelry!
