O.K. do you have your Halloween costume picked out yet? If not, you better hurry up because Halloween will be here before you know it!
If you're not sure what to wear, I have a suggestion for you. How about dressing as Queen Elizabeth II for Halloween? She's classy, well-dressed, and dripping in jewels...sounds like fun, right? And she's pretty much a fashion icon around the world.
So, instead of giving you a step-by-step set of instructions on how to dress like the Queen, here are a few "tips" and then you can take these and design your own smashing royal outfit!
Be colorful. The Queen loves color and she's not afraid to wear it. Royal blues, vibrant reds, and lovely lilacs... whether she's in a suit or gown, she wears all the colors of the rainbow with great style! Go bright or go home!
Find hats and gloves. If you're not planning to wear a tiara and all the glittery gems (I'll get to that next!), then find your best hat and gloves! The Queen is rarely without an incredible hat and a pristine pair of gloves to match her perfectly tailored suits. While she loves to make a fashion statement with them, they're not without their utilitarian purposes...England is a chilly place! And go for a big hat, that's what the Queen likes to wear!
Get Out Your Best Jewels. Alright, this is the fun part! In order to do this part of the costume justice, you might want to consider taking out a small loan. Just kidding! But as an aside, here's a little info the Queen's jewels:
O.K. back to the costume, if you're going for the full royal effect, you will need a large dazzling diamond tiara, diamond earrings, and a large diamond necklace paired with a beautiful evening gown. Basically, cover yourself in diamonds! Or, if you're going for the more conservative royal look, think pearls and a suit! Here are a few great pictures to give you some inspiration:
And, don't forget the white wig! So, if you do actually dress like Queen Elizabeth II for Halloween, please send us a picture!
