The 2018 Met Gala has come and gone but it certainly left its mark on the jewelry world...wow! It's fashion's biggest night of the year and it was OVER THE TOP in every way--opulence, lavishness, and luxury were the name of the game and the stars played it very well!
The theme of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute exhibit was, "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."
For those of you who don't know exactly what the Met Gala is, it is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City.
It celebrates the grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit. Each year, the gala celebrates the theme of that year's Costume Institute exhibition. The exhibition itself sets the theme for the attire of the evening and guests are expected to match their fashion choices with the theme.
And since this year's theme focused on Catholic influence in fashion, you saw everything from rosaries, crosses, ornate headpieces, pendants, cuffs, bold earrings, layered rings, and so much more!
Here are a few of our favorite looks from the evening...

Rihanna had to be one of the stand-outs that night with a white beaded Margiela corset mini dress under a full skirt, with a beaded bishop’s hat to match. The outfit was accessorized with a pearl anklet and a bejeweled crucifix necklace. She was out-of-this-world in every sense of the word!

Katharine McPhee draped herself in necklaces and bracelets and it was perfect, particularly the large crucifix.

Amber Heard rocked the "lots of earrings" look and we loved it! And that headband...amazing! We heard it was DIY...can you believe it?
